Survey Day!
We have booked our survey of Tiger lilly, after a few phone calls to various marine surveyors we found an available guy called Paul kerridge surveyors, so he’s going to crawl allover the yacht and tell us if there is anything seriously wrong, so finger crossed
offer has been accepted
Exciting times our offer on tiger lily has been accepted, she is in need of a new furling head sail system but we have went in with a reasonably low offer to take into account of the work needed and SUPRISE they accepted, we have now got to get a survey done and the quote of the riggers that will fit the new head sail sytem
having a go at sailing
Welcome to our blog for our new life under sail.
We are carl and christine scarth from north shields, in tyne and wear, england, we are in the process of buying a sailing yacht, a sadler 34 called tiger lily from plymouth on the south coast of the uk.
We have had a weeks RYA competent crew training, but as we have lived at the coast in the times of a healthy fishing fleet in north shields carl has spent quite a while on the water in fishing boats and messing about with dinghies and surf skis (a kayak really), So are we really ready for sailing a 34ft yacht back from plymouth to north shields, well we have one of the most sea kind boats that we could buy, we have new wet weather kit and a load of enthusiasm.
hope we can encourage others to go and live a dream they have
